Global Business Services Group

Leaders in their field in several sectors, spanning hospitality, corporate travel and employee benefits, this world leading £multi-billion turnover organisation required a Group Sales & Marketing Director for their business services division. Specific experience of their sector was not a requirement. However a deep understanding of why the vacancy had arisen, the significant issues that needed addressing in the sales force and the distinct leadership qualities required were paramount. Within less than ten days the client was able to interview our shortlist and a successful appointment was made of a Sales and Marketing Director who clearly understood the levers of motivation, control and success for a world class sales team. Nearly three years later the candidate chosen continues to lead this valuable business division.


International Hotel Group

The client had interviewed 50 IT Project Management candidates through conventional recruitment methods and made only one appointment of the several vacancies they had to fill, wasting many management hours interviewing inadequate candidates sourced by the conventional ‘body shop’ agency approach. Brooklands Executives was then invited to participate in the recruitment process and rapidly demonstrated the benefit of a more bespoke approach to the client’s needs. Detailed short list information on each candidate allowed the client to narrow the field rapidly and the first successful appointment was quickly made. FTSE250 private sector employer

The client’s operations span northern Europe and their sector was in a significant downturn following ‘September 11th’. Charged with locating a new Company Secretary with a legal qualification in order to also act as in-house council, Brooklands Executives used their high calibre researchers to rapidly identify both sector and geographically sited suitable candidates, ensuring relocation issues would not delay any appointment. Escalating adverse financial press commentary, a change of CEO half way through the search and other negative perceptions, required careful management by Brooklands’ search consultants to optimise the level of candidate interest. Our candid and quantified evaluation of the need to revise the specification after the first search, secured client approval for a reappraisal of the target companies and sectors. Despite the second phase coinciding with the prime summer vacation period, four short-list candidates were identified in less than four weeks.

NHS TRUST

This client was one of a number of NHS organisations nationally selected for an audit of its data quality. Following the audit The Trust board committed the organisation to an ambitious programme of data quality improvement.

This Trust had been one of the first organisations to use and benefit from Brooklands‘ new Executive Search service and they were quick to spot an opportunity to use the service again. Brooklands Executives was therefore called in to find a special individual to join the team to give this project added impetus and focus.

Having completed the whole selection process in 5 weeks in the first assignment, the Trust was keen to lay down the challenge of repeating this feat for this follow up opportunity.

The client was impressed that Brooklands came up with 4 excellent candidates, all of whom were deemed appropriate for the task in hand and the Trust Board was able to agree who should be interviewed on a face to face basis.

Suffice it to say Brooklands hit the deadlines and a high quality candidate was selected.

So successful has Brooklands Executive Search service been for this Trust, with its time saving and cost effective format, that the Trust has now commissioned Brooklands to recruit a number of consultants.
