Chairman and Chief Executive

David Jensen

David founded Brooklands Executives Limited and has built the business into a market leader.

Prior to starting the company, David spent several years as one of the highest individual producers in the UK Interim Executive market where he trebled the size of one of the leading intermediaries, in just three years. David’s success was due in part to his 360 degree view of the Interim Executive market – he has operated as one himself, hired them and now places them with some of the world’s leading companies and brands.

David has held senior sales and marketing posts, general management and Managing Director posts in a range of major international businesses – United Glass, Reed International, Caddie SA, BUPA, Zenith SA, Chinacraft, and latterly Accor Corporate Services.

His international experience over many years of developing products and service solutions for Board Directors has seen him working in countries as diverse as USA, Denmark, Italy, France, Switzerland and the UAE to name a few.

When not working, David tries to grab some time at his house in Ibiza where he is battling blazing sun and scarcity of water to grow an almond grove.

Stephen Goldman

Stephen is a founder member and Director of Brooklands Executives. He brings a passion to our outstanding business process, focusing on quality and speed of response.

Following a classic sales and marketing career in industry and employee benefit business services, Stephen has held senior sales management posts for leading European companies. IDV, Accor and Gissings are just some of the leading employers he has been employed by in his career.

Stephen is a keen squash enthusiast and a leading light in the Wine Trade squash club. He also travels the world to watch England play cricket despite the fact the aura of his presence appears to be a handicap on many occasions. His daughter's horsebox can be seen on the highways and byways of southern England most weekends, sporting the Brooklands livery.

Simon Farbrother

Simon joined in 2007 and brings 12 years of “search” (head hunting) experience to Brooklands.

He has worked across sectors, from software to retail, delivering senior management and board director positions across all functions from Sales and Marketing through HR and Finance to Development. Simon has carried out every role in a search business from researcher to trainer and senior consultant. He brings a robust knowledge of successful “search process” and a passion for delivering.

Rugby and skiing will always get an animated conversation going with Simon, as will Sri Lanka. After much research with his young family they have decided Sri Lanka is their favourite place to visit and much time is spent in planning for the day when they set off to find the perfect spot near Galle.

Director of Professional Development

Margaret Sheppard

It was just over two years ago that Margaret joined the Brooklands team as Director of Professional Development. As a former Director of Right Coutts Margaret has over thirty years experience in helping organisations to improve effectiveness and maintain their competitive edge through the development of their people.

Margaret is experienced in the design and delivery of training and counselling, coaching and mentoring programmes to a wide variety of public and private sector organisations. The diversity of her portfolio is reflected in the cross-cultural teams Margaret has managed with projects in Western Europe, UK, USA, Hong Kong and the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

The image of professional development being a “pink and fluffy” activity is far from the challenges that Margaret has overcome, for example
acting as a coach of choice for Chase in the Asia Pacific region; and designing an assessment centre process for a major UK FMCG company that enabled them to locate, assess and recruit twenty new graduates in the PRC.

When not clucking over her corporate flock, Margaret is a keen hen enthusiast.

Kate Greenwood

Prior to joining Brooklands in 2007 Kate held senior management positions and gained international experience in the Defence Industry, working for both the UK Government and private sector. Kate brings a wealth of project management, change management and communication skills to the Brooklands team.

Kate’s passion is in developing and delivering organisational change and high performance culture; it was a natural transition therefore for her to join Brooklands, an organisation that harnesses and promotes the talent of individuals to achieve corporate objectives. It was her fascination with strategic thinking that lead her from her financial career with PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Touche towards the defence sector.

As a former international competitive athlete Kate thrives on a challenge; becoming a Round the World Yachtswoman in 2006 has sparked a passion in sailing and keeping dry and warm!

Martin Borland

Martin Borland

Client Services Director (South East)

Martin Borland

Martin joined Brooklands just over three years ago and considers this the most fulfilling thing he has done in his career to date. In particular Martin finds immense satisfaction from the win/win situation when clients identify a need to fill an assignment or role and Martin delivers candidates that deliver.

Prior to joining Brooklands, Martin was General Manager of Doctors Direct plc, a company supplying private General Practitioner services to corporate clients and the public. Most of his working life however has been spent in the City at Lloyds of London. Having started his training in one of the bigger broking houses he, through a series of moves and promotions, became a Director of one of the medium sized broking houses. This has given him a wide experience of doing business on an international scale and dealing with a colourful and varied client base.

Outside the working environment Martin enjoys racing both horses and Formula 1. He confesses to a fondness for Arsenal, which provides an expensive and often disappointing enjoyment of sport. He also enjoys sailing and fine dining.

Elaine Sherrington

Elaine entered the world of Recruitment in 1987 and was fortunate to receive an excellent foundation in best practice within a small, highly reputable, London consultancy. Elaine has remained in recruitment for much of her working career, but had a five year break, living and working in the Caribbean, combining teaching in a local primary school and running a busy diving business.

Elaine has accumulated a wealth of broad based recruitment experience working for large multi-national specialist recruiters and smaller multi-function independents, both in the UK and overseas. This combined with two years in-house HR Management experience ensures she understands her client's needs.

Elaine joined Brooklands in 2005 as a Consultant and was promoted to Client Services Director for the South East in 2008.

Balancing full time work with raising two boys, doesn't allow much time for personal leisure pursuits, however, Elaine has recently taken up golf and makes the most of living by the Sussex seaside.

Sue Haines

Sue joined Brooklands in 2004 bringing the previously outsourced finance function in-house. Sue is a Chartered Accountant with twenty years experience following qualification with Touche Ross in London.

Prior to joining Brooklands, Sue was a Manager in the Amey Group Shared Service Centre, having previously worked as a Financial Controller with responsibility for several group companies including a specialist IT recruitment company. Previously she worked as a Financial Controller for the Comax Group, formed from the privatisation of the support services divisions of DERA, an Agency of MoD.

Sue confesses to a previous incarnation as a computer analyst for a scientific software house; however the excitement proved too great and the joys of double-entry bookkeeping and auditing beckoned.
